We saw a lively group of grad students, undergrads, staff, and faculty at Wednesday’s rally against budget cuts and the Public Higher Education Empowerment and Innovation Act. It was exciting to see a broad coalition of people whose interests would be harmed by these state plans stand up and make their voices heard in the campus community and before the university’s administration.

As your candidates for President and Vice President, we’re committed to continuing and initiating dialogue with the administration and lawmakers about your concerns. Rallying, of course, isn’t the only tactic we are interested in employing — we’ve also committed to going to Albany for lobby days and working with the unions and other campus groups to more effectively represent the interests of students and employees at UB.

Thanks to everyone who came out! It was an enormously successful event.
